"The Universe of Sound"
16 May 2015 - 30 June 2015 |
The Universe of Sound has now entered the 13th phase of its rotation within the Moscow Conservatory orbit. During all these thirteen years, we have been talking about the great role of sound in the preserving and passing of the spiritual experience, as well as about a vital necessity to develop one’s inner ability to hear the other. The desire and ability to hear and listen to each other in today’s world, with its global problems, is the real way for all world cultures to co-exist harmoniously on the basis of respect to the modes of life and indigenous traditions of our neighbors on the planet.
During the years our festival has existed, hundreds of outstanding musicians, as well as some unique art groups and worldly recognized scholars, have participated in it. Within a versatile kaleidoscope of Moscow festivals, The Universe of Sound has originally featured both a careful attitude to authentic traditions of the world and performers of an elite level. Unlike today’s general tendency to mix and unify all musical styles and genres and, therefore, to corrupt their philosophical, symbolical, magical and ideological content, The Universe of Sound has been demonstrating some genuine examples of both classical and traditional music from various regions.
During May and June of 2015, the Moscow Conservatory will host guests from Armenia, Belarus, Colombia, India, Iran, Italy, Russia’s Republic of Tyva, South Korea, and Turkey.
