The International Conference Stanislavsky and Musical Theatre
(on Konstantin Stanislavsky’s 160th anniversary)
The International Conference Stanislavsky and Musical Theatre, dedicated to the 160th anniversary of Konstantin Stanislavsky (1863–1938), will take place on 1–3 November 2023 in Moscow, both online and offline.
The organizers of the conference:
- Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS);
- Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory;
- Gnesins Russian Academy of Music;
- The State Institute for Art Studies.
The conference will be held at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) at: 6 Maly Kislovsky Lane, Moscow. The languages of the conference are Russian and English. Technical opportunity for demonstrating video files will be provided. All travel and accommodation expenses are to be covered by the forwarding entity. The participation is free of charge. A dormitory may be provided for participants from other cities.
The time schedule is as follows:
- 20 minutes for the presentation;
- 5 minutes for answering the listeners’ questions.
The applications have to be forwarded to application@gitis.net at the following dates:
- for participants from Russia and the countries whose citizens do not need an entry visa: not later than
1 October 2023; - for participants from the countries whose citizens do need an entry visa: not later than 15 August 2023.
A collective monograph will be published after the conference. Articles of up to 30,000 characters (including spaces, footnotes and list of references) will be accepted until 1 December 2023. No article will be published unless the presentation is made.
The application has to be submitted in both Russian and English, will be reviewed on a competitive basis and may be rejected by the Organizing Committee without explanation.
