Program of the International Summer School
25 January — 7 February 2015
The International School of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory offers an intensive program of individual lessons, lectures, master classes and performances in the following majors:
- solo performance, including piano, organ and all orchestral instruments;
- solo singing;
- choral conducting;
- chamber ensemble;
- the art of accompaniment;
- composition;
- lessons on musicology and music theory;
- the teaching of vocal performance, as well as of playing piano, organ and all orchestral instruments.
In addition to individual lessons, the International School participants may attend master classes taught by Russia’s leading teachers and participate in a concert performance scheduled for 7 February 2015 at the Rachmaninoff Hall. Lectures and seminars are going to help the International School participants learn the methodology of teaching musical subjects in a detailed way at various levels of Russia’s music education system. The music theory major includes individual lessons and lectures on the history and theory of Russian and European classical and folk music, as well as on anthropology of music culture and on ethnomusicology.
Teachers
Over fifty leading teachers of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory who attained a worldwide renown for their artistic and academic merits have been teaching at its International School on a biannual basis.
Certificate
Upon completion of the International School Program, every participant shall get his/her certificate issued by the Moscow Conservatory.
Electives
The following services may be offered to the International School participants at extra charge:
- Russian language lessons;
- an interpreter for an individual cultural program;
- an accompanist for rehearsals and for the concert performance at the Rachmaninoff Hall on 7 February 2015;
- chamber ensemble lessons with other participants of the International School or with the Moscow Conservatory students available during the International School;
- lessons of accompaniment with participation of professional solo singers;
- any other additional lessons with the conservatory teachers.
Accommodation and Meals
During the International School, its participants may stay at the Moscow Conservatory guest house and have two meals per day in the dining-room.
Cultural Program
The International School is held in the conservatory’s historical buildings in the very heart of Moscow, one of the largest cities worldwide. The participants will be offered a sightseeing guided tour over Moscow and vicinities with an escort interpreter. Additional tours, such as visits to the Moscow Kremlin, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Bolshoi Theater, as well as to Tchaikovsky’s, Skryabin’s, Richter’s and other famous Russian musicians’ memorial flats, may be organized at extra charge.
Length of the Program (optional)
- 25–31 January, one week: the ending time is 1 February, 12:00 PM
- 1–7 February, one week: the ending time is 8 February, 12:00 PM
- 25 January — 7 February, two weeks: the ending time is 8 February, 12:00 PM
One standard seven-day course includes:
- visa support;
- meeting and seeing off at any Moscow airports;
- three individual lessons with a Moscow Conservatory teacher (fifty minutes each);
- participation in the final concert of the International School;
- services of an accompanist during the lessons;
- services of an interpreter during the lessons;
- services of the Moscow Conservatory Library;
- access to rehearsal rooms of the Moscow Conservatory on an everyday basis to let every participant be prepared for his/her individual lessons;
- access to any concerts of the Moscow Conservatory that are held in its concert halls;
- access to master classes held at the Moscow Conservatory;
- staying at the Moscow Conservatory guest house;
- two meals per day in the Moscow Conservatory dining-room (lunch and dinner);
- various excursions.

The cost of staying and meals for every additional day is $50 or €40.
Important!
1. The amounts listed in the foregoing table do not include any banking fees for transferring money to the Moscow Conservatory’s accounts in foreign currencies.
2. An individual contract will be signed with each participant of the International School. In the event a participant would like to waive any of the above-listed services in advance and/or to decrease the number of lessons scheduled for the standard seven-day course, the cost of that course will be diminished and stated in the individual contract in writing after the respective recalculation.
3. Should any participant of the International School need an interpreter during his/her individual lessons, it is strongly recommended that he/she indicate such a request in the application form and mark the preferable language of an interpreter. In case the International School Administration finds this request impossible to satisfy, it shall reserve the right to provide the participant with an English interpreter.
In order to get both an official invitation and visa support, a registration fee of $125 or €100, which shall be included into the total cost of the Program, must be transferred not later than 25 December 2014 to any of the following bank accounts (depending on the currency you choose):

4. The cost of the consular fee shall not be included into the total cost of the Program.
5. The full amount of payment must not be transferred before your individual Contract on participation in the International School is signed. In case a participant decides to withdraw from the International School Program, his/her registration fee will not be returned.
