The International Composition Competition (as a part of the Fourth Moscow Conservatory International Competition for Winds and Percussion)

The competition founder — Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
1. The competition rules:
1. There are two categories of competition
- Work for flute solo
- Work for tuba solo
2. The competition is open to composers of any nationality with no age limit.
3. Each composer may submit no more than one work for each category.
4. The competition will accept only works which have been never published, have been never performed in public concerts and have been never awarded anywhere.
5. The work length must be no less than 5 and no more than 8 minutes.
6. The composer`s name must not appear on the cover of score. The application must include two copies of score marked with a motto only.
7. The score must either be written clearly and legibly by hand in ink or scored in digital form and printed. It is also necessary to include a CD with electronic or scanned version of the score (PDF only accepted).
8. In addition to the CD and two copies of score, composers must submit

- 2 contestant’s photos (JPEG or PNG accepted only)
9. All documents for the competition must be submitted in a sealed envelope signed with the motto indicated on the score cover.
10. The sealed envelope with two copies of the score, CD and the mentioned documents should be sent before May 25th, 2012 to the following address:

11. All the materials sent within the application are non-refundable.
12. The result of the competition will be announced not later than on September 1st, 2012.
2. The Prizes:
- 10 000 Russian rubles for the best work for flute solo
- 10 000 Russian rubles for the best work for tuba solo
The Prizes are paid in Russian rubles.
The awarded works will be published by the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory Publishers House and will be mandatory works for the second round of the Fourth Moscow Conservatory International Competition for Winds and Percussion (November 1-8, 2012).
The jury may recommend other works of the contestants also for publishing by Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory Publishers House.
3. The Jury
The competition jury will consist of professors of wood-wind and percussion instruments and brass instruments departments as well as of professors of composition department.

Yury Kasparov — Composer, Honored Artist of Russia, Docent at the Moscow Conservatory
